ALEXANDER IV SENIOR LIVING
Year: 2018 | Athens, GA
Located within the heart of a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Macon, Georgia, Alexander IV Senior Living is an adaptive reuse of the 1932 Alexander IV Elementary School, a local landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The long vacant historic building was restored and converted into a luxury senior living campus, accommodating independent and assisted living. The redesign provides a new entrance, public lobby, cafe, commercial kitchen, living, and dining, among other amenities. Clean lines and sleek finishes provide a quality elegance while traditional sensibilities influence the overall design, engaging the historic character of the building. Texture, materials, and color work to create an atmosphere of warmth and comfort, embedding a sense of home.
My role involved the development of all construction documents required for the interior building renovation including project code analysis and life safety, coordination with consultants, the design and detailing of custom millwork elements, and selection of FFE.
