RIVERFRONT JUNCTION
Year: 2021
Located along the Nashville riverfront, the project features a master site plan proposal for a new riverfront development. Given its adjacency to the future Wharf Park, the project’s scope also undertakes the schematic design of the new park, incorporating it into the overall site design.
Positioned at the periphery of Nashville's the rapidly expanding urban core, the project’s design aims to responsibly respond to its surrounding urban context and needs of its adjacent, underserved communities through scale, typology, and a diverse mix of uses. The Riverfront Junction district seeks to act as a unifying agent to its neighboring communities, offering crucial access to retail, both affordable and market rate housing, dining, recreation, etc.
The development celebrates the water’s edge and expands access to the waterfront and advancing Nashville’s commitment to reconnect the city to its riverfront. The pedestrian focused site design is linked with the Nashville greenway system, further strengthening the connection between the urban core and the site.
