AXLE LOGISTICS
Year: 2018 | Knoxville, TN
Axle Logistics features a dynamic transformation of Knoxville’s historic Hull-Dobbs building into a state-of-the-art corporate headquarters and workplace. Located with the rapidly transforming Happy Holler District, the project activates its surrounding context and begins to further extend Knoxville’s downtown northward. It features unique office amenities such as an fitness center, complete with an indoor basketball court and locker rooms, game room lounge, breakroom, and in-house market. The exposed structure and materiality of the original construction celebrates the singular history and character of the building and inspires the sleek, industrial nature of the design. Generous openings, original to the building, flood the interior spaces with light.
My role as interior project designer involved the schematic design, space planning, design development of all interior spaces throughout the project, production of construction drawings, millwork details, and selection of lighting and finishes.
