OLD CITY ATHLETIC CLUB

Year: 2016 | Knoxville, TN

Located in the heart of Knoxville's Old City District, the project features the restoration and conversion of a portion of the Historic John H. Daniel Building into a multi-use gym facility with a unique character. The timeworn qualities of the space is embraced as the original hardwood flooring, intricately detailed tin ceiling tiles, and weathered brick walls are preserved and restored and elevated by simple, clean design elements.

As the project designer, my role involved the design and planning of the space, verification of existing building construction, and development of all necessary construction documents, coordination with engineers and consultants, and selection of finishes.
